Hypnotherapy is a form of therapy used to create subconscious change in a patient in the form of new responses, thoughts, attitudes, behaviours or feelings. It is undertaken with a client in hypnosis.

Hypnosis is a deep state of relaxation but is not sleep. During this deep state of relaxation the senses become around 30% more heightened and aware induced by the power of suggestion. In order for these positive changes to take place the individual needs to want to make the changes themselves and give full cooperation.

handdropHypnotherapy is not about controlling people but is a deeply relaxing and rewarding experience using suggestion technique to the subconscious mind for positive changes to take place.

Clients in this comfortable state become receptive to positive messages in the sub conscious mind by visualization and effective communication, at times called a state of focused relaxation. On a daily basis without realising it we all experience states of hypnosis. In these moments we daydream, drift off, or perform a task on autopilot without realising we’re doing it. .  Hypnosis is a perfectly natural state; during Hypnotherapy the client is in control at all times.

Indeed hypnosis is being increasingly used as an adjunct to orthodox medicine and is proving to be a valuable alternative and has been found to promote healing, accelerate learning, relieving stress, controlling pain and improving individual performance.
